South-South Exchange
Countries and societies in the Southern hemisphere are bound by timeless traditions, complex cultures, unique histories, knowledge, know-how and notions of governance that transcend boundaries and time-zones. The Institute for Policy Alternatives coordinates a South-South Learning initiative intended to share experiences among countries and societies of the South. Known as South-South Exchange, the programme focuses on themes determined by participants and subscribers. Here are a few examples:

Exchanging Poverty Reduction & Wellbeing Strategies ? Examining their global perspectives and the local impacts. In seeking to engage the debate about strategies for poverty reduction and wellbeing, IPA focuses on the interfaces between global paradigms for coordinating resources to developing countries for the purpose of reducing poverty, and the micro-realities where the poor struggle for resources, capacities and voice to improve their wellbeing and livelihoods. Through a series of issue papers and participatory impact analyses, IPA interrogates the shifting boundaries of global paradigms and their impact on local discourses about poverty and wellbeing.
